Community Development enables communities of all kinds to achieve change and social justice by working together in ways which challenge oppression and tackle inequality. It enables communities to identify their own needs and recognise their strenths, limitations, opportunities, rights and responsibilities. It supports them to plan, organise and take action, and to evaluate the impact of their actions on themselves and others.

Membership of the Network is informal, and open to people who define themselves as doing community work and community development work in Shropshire. Membership is open to both paid and unpaid community workers and community activists.
