Shropshire Grassroots Fund - double your impact
The Grassroots Grants Endowment match challenge in Shropshire means is you give to your local community, so will the government. This will help you:
Between 2008 and 2011, every £1 you give will be matched by £1 from government. Add gift aid, and your gift is worth £2.56. If you're a higher rate tax payer you can claim tax relief too, so your gift only costs you 75p. This will more than double your impact.
The Community Council of Shropshire is one of 67 local funders across England selected to manage the Grassroots Grants Endowment match challenge. To secure £298,287.19 from government, we need to raise £298.287.19 before 2011.
All donations, together with the government match funding, will be effectively invested in special endowment funds for the long term benefit of local communities in Shropshire. Every year, your gift will help fund community and voluntary groups working to make Shropshire better for everyone. In that sense, it is a gift that keeps on giving.
We are firmly rooted in the local community and experts in supporting local community and voluntary groups. Whether it's funding friendship clubs for older people, support groups for people with disabilities or positive activities for young people, we ensure that grants made are relevant to local needs.
If you are considering making a donation, please get in touch so we can discuss your needs and involvement.
Grassroots Grants is a £130 million programme funded by the Office of the Third Sector in the Cabinet Office and administered by the Community Development Foundation.
